President Bola Tinubu is not thinking of contesting the 2027 election with any opposition candidate, said Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Galadima was said to have spoken at the inauguration of the NDC National Reconciliation Committee set up to address post-primary election disputes ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He accused Tinubu of making it difficult for other political parties to produce candidates, saying Nigerians must come together and vote him out.

Furthermore,Buba Galadima also said that the Electoral Act was conceived and perfected by President Tinubu before it was taken to the National Assembly.

“Tinubu is only protecting himself and the APC and making it difficult for other parties to produce candidates, he said.

“The president is not thinking of a contest with anyone, but we will not permit it. Even if it’s an empty coffin, all Nigerians must come together and throw him out for the sake of the country.” “

Meanwhile, former presidential candidate, Pat Utomi, has talked about his decades-long political disagreements with Galadima.

He said that he still maintains cordial relations with Galadima despite their differences.

Utomi said this in Abuja shortly after the inauguration of the National Reconciliation Committee of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) set up by the party to reconcile aggrieved aspirants and stakeholders after its nationwide congresses, convention and primaries.

Utomi said he was confident the NDC could reunite its aggrieved members ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The committee was inaugurated just 48 hours after the party announced its constitution as part of efforts to address grievances and litigation arising from the recently concluded primaries ahead of the 2027 polls.

Utomi, who is also the committee chairman, said at the inauguration that the assignment was a privilege and a major responsibility, adding that the panel would work toward restoring unity in the party while keeping its focus on the future of the country.
