Former United States President Joe Biden’s health is worsening as his son Hunter Biden has revealed that the former president’s cancer has metastasized to his bones.

Reports say the revelation came during an interview with the BBC when talking about his father’s ongoing battle with the disease and how it has impacted the family.

Hunter said Biden’s condition has become painful and difficult to watch as the illness continues to affect his health.

He said the cancer has spread from its original site into his bones and other areas of his body.

Hunter, Biden’s only surviving son, said the situation had been hard on the family, especially given the pain and weakness of the disease.

He also spoke warmly of his father’s role in the family, calling him a devoted father, husband and grandfather who is still at the center of the family despite his health challenges.

Hunter said: “I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good, the cancer has spread and further. It is very painful… very debilitating. Cancer is seriously tough. It’s very sad to see. My dad is still the center of our family. He’s the best father, husband, grandfather.”

Biden announced his cancer diagnosis in May 2025, just over four months after leaving office.

He was diagnosed with a virulent form of prostate cancer.

The former president later said he was responding well to treatment and thanked those who had continued to pray for him and offered their support during his illness.

Earlier, Biden had been optimistic about his treatment, saying his doctors expected the medication to help control the disease.

He also said he was on certain medication for a number of weeks as part of his treatment.
