Former Administrator Disassociates Self From Virtuous Concepts Cooperative, Disclaims Liability Over Financial Dealings

A former Head of Administration of Virtuous Concepts (Ojo) Cooperative Multipurpose Society Limited, Mrs Assumpta Chikwado Umeaku, has formally dissociated herself from the cooperative society and disclaimed responsibility for any financial obligations, liabilities or disputes that may be associated with the organisation.
Umeaku made the declaration in an affidavit of disclaimer sworn to before a Notary Public in Lagos State on July 3, 2026.
In the affidavit, the deponent stated that she was formerly the Head of Administration of Virtuous Concepts (Ojo) Cooperative Multipurpose Society Limited, identified in the document as V.C.C.M.S., with an office located at No. 28/30, Ijegun Road, Oja Bus Stop, beside Libra Motor Park, Ikotun, Lagos State.
She explained that, while serving in the organisation, she operated a group within the cooperative using her name, with an account maintained for members of her sub-group.
According to her, she had subsequently settled all financial matters involving members of the sub-group under her supervision.
The affidavit stated: “That as at date, I have settled all financial issues with all members of my Sub-Group.”
Following the alleged settlement, Umeaku declared that she had chosen to completely disassociate herself from Virtuous Concepts (Ojo) Cooperative Multipurpose Society Limited.
She further stated that she should not be held liable, accountable or responsible for any financial issues that may have arisen previously or might arise subsequently in connection with the cooperative.
The disclaimer appears intended to formally place her position on record and distinguish her personal financial responsibilities and dealings with members of her former sub-group from those of the cooperative society.
The deponent also stated that the affidavit was being made for public consumption, apparently to ensure that members of the public, particularly persons who may have dealings with the cooperative, are aware of her position.
She affirmed that the declaration was made bona fide and in accordance with the laws governing Notaries Public in Nigeria.
The affidavit was sworn to on July 3, 2026, before solicitor and Notary Public of Nigeria Holden in Lagos State.
The document does not, in itself, establish the existence or otherwise of any financial liability against the cooperative or any other individual. Rather, it records Umeaku’s formal declaration that she has settled the financial issues involving members of her sub-group and no longer wishes to be associated with the cooperative or be held responsible for its financial affairs.
The disclaimer could therefore become relevant to any future financial dispute or claim in which Umeaku’s former administrative role or her association with the cooperative is cited as a basis for liability.
As contained in the sworn document, her position is that her responsibilities ended following her purported settlement with members of her sub-group and her subsequent formal disengagement from the cooperative.
