Toyin Abraham Denies Rejecting APC Council List Due To Online Trolls

Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has reiterated that she intends to stay out of politics after her name appeared on the Lagos State APC Campaign Council list.

Abraham, who was listed under the council’s Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, said she had no prior knowledge of the inclusion and had not agreed to serve on the campaign structure.

The actress first rejected the reported appointment on Thursday, shortly after the campaign council list was released. She asked the public to disregard her name, stressing that she was not a member of any campaign council and had previously stated that she was staying away from politics.

On Friday, Abraham returned to the issue on X after a supporter suggested that rejecting the role could prevent further bullying.

She clarified that online criticism was not responsible for her decision. Instead, she said she discovered her name on the list without knowing how it got there and decided to reject the reported inclusion.

Abraham also reaffirmed that she has no interest in politics.

The Lagos APC campaign council had listed the actress alongside several entertainers under its Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate.

Other names on the published list include Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Akintola, Adebayo Salami, Saheed Balogun, Bukky Wright, Pasuma, Obesere and Adewale Ayuba.

Toke Benson-Awoyinka was named director of the entertainment directorate, while Kosoko was listed as Co-Director and Badmus as Deputy Director.

The campaign council’s inauguration was scheduled for September 18 at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
