Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the just-concluded governorship election in the state.
Governor Fintiri described the outcome as a reflection of the will of the people and their desire for continuity, good governance and people-centred leadership.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the Adamawa governor said Adeleke’s victory was well deserved and expressed confidence in his ability to sustain development initiatives across Osun State.
“I heartily congratulate Senator Ademola Adeleke on this well-deserved victory. I do not doubt that he will continue to deliver on his mandate to transform Osun State and improve the lives of its citizens,” Fintiri said.
The Governor also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as statesmanship and commitment to democratic principles during the electoral process.
According to him, the President demonstrated respect for democracy by allowing the electoral process to proceed without interference.
“I must commend President Tinubu for standing on the side of democracy. By not interfering with the outcome of the process and by ensuring that the right thing was done, he has proven himself to be a true democrat. This is how democracy grows when the will of the people is respected, irrespective of party lines,” he said.
The Governor therefore, urged political stakeholders and residents of Osun State to accept the outcome of the election in good faith and work together for the continued development of the state.
He also prayed for wisdom, strength and divine guidance for Governor Adeleke as he continues to lead the state.
