Veteran Nollywood actor Hanks Anuku has opened up about his spiritual journey, revealing that he was ordained as a pastor by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
The actor made the disclosure during an appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast, where he spoke about his Christian faith and earlier involvement in ministry.
Anuku said he studied theology at Redemption Camp while living in Lagos, explaining that his decision to pursue religious studies was influenced by his love for God and his desire to follow what he believed was divine direction.
According to him, many people are unaware of his pastoral background because he is widely recognised for his acting career.
However, the actor insisted that he still considers himself a pastor despite the limited public knowledge of his involvement in ministry.
He also disclosed that Adeboye ordained him when his wife was still alive, suggesting that the experience occurred several years ago.
Anuku challenged anyone who doubted his account to seek clarification from the RCCG leader, saying the cleric could confirm the circumstances surrounding his ordination.

During the interview, the actor stressed the importance of faith and prayer, arguing that God’s power surpasses human strength.
He explained that his involvement in ministry was motivated by his conviction that he was being guided towards a spiritual purpose.
The revelation has brought renewed attention to a lesser-known aspect of Anuku’s life outside the Nigerian film industry.
Over the years, the actor has built a career in Nollywood, featuring in numerous productions and earning recognition among movie audiences.
His latest comments, however, have shifted attention to his theological education and claimed pastoral ordination.
Anuku maintained that his relationship with God remains an important part of his identity and personal journey.
His disclosure offers further insight into the spiritual experiences he says have influenced his life, while his call for verification places the focus on his account of his relationship with Adeboye.
