BBNaija’s Tochi Speaks Against Early Marriage, Encourages Women to Build Their Future

Reality TV personality Tochi Okechukwu has spoken against early marriage, urging young women to give themselves time to build their lives before starting families.

The former Big Brother Naija housemate made the remarks in an Instagram post, saying he has consistently advocated against women entering marriage too early.

Tochi believes young girls should first have the opportunity to determine what they want from life and work towards achieving their dreams.

He argued that marriage and motherhood at an early age can sometimes cause women to put their education, careers and other ambitions on hold.

The reality star pointed out that some women who have the potential to become doctors, business owners or leaders could end up being recognised mainly through their roles as wives.

However, Tochi stressed that his comments should not be interpreted as opposition to marriage. Instead, he said young women should pay attention to the timing and prepare themselves before settling down.

He advised them to finish their education, learn valuable skills and work towards financial independence.

Tochi’s position has contributed to a wider conversation about when people should marry and the importance of personal development before taking on family responsibilities.

He encouraged young women to build their confidence, abilities and independence while pursuing the ambitions they have for their future.
