The singer made the claim in a video while discussing the history of the instrumental that later became one of Davido’s earliest major hits.
Davido has also spoken about the beat’s origins. In an interview for an Afrobeat documentary, he confirmed that the foundation of the instrumental was initially created for Sexy Steel.
Davido recalled producing music in his Lagos studio in 2011 when he made the beat specifically for Sexy Steel.
According to him, producer Shizzy later joined the production process, adding keys and other elements to the instrumental.
