Cross subsequently turned his attention to the government’s handling of street begging in Lagos, questioning why beggars were allowed to operate around busy areas.
He described the incident as evidence of the security challenges faced by residents and motorists.
“Nigeria is not safe,” he said, while calling for greater attention to the issue.
The reality star also described the situation as unfair and said he could not understand why the authorities continued to allow such activities on the streets.
Cross’s comments have since generated discussion about street begging, petty crime and security in Lagos. The alleged theft has not been independently verified.
