Reality television star Phyna and Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing are preparing to face off in a celebrity boxing match in Lagos on October 1.
The contest, billed as “Phyna vs Nkechi,” will be held at the Federal Palace Hotel as part of Balmoral Group Promotions’ “Chaos in the Ring” series.
The organisers unveiled the matchup on Friday, September 18, with promotional materials featuring both entertainers in boxing gear.
The planned contest comes shortly after a public disagreement between Phyna and Nkechi Blessing on social media.
Nkechi had spoken out against Phyna’s involvement in online disputes, prompting a response from the reality TV star.
Phyna questioned the reason for Nkechi’s public comments and said the two entertainers had previously communicated regarding a movie project.
The upcoming boxing event will bring the dispute into a physical entertainment setting, where both personalities will compete before a live audience.
“Chaos in the Ring” has previously featured several Nigerian entertainers in celebrity boxing contests. Participants have included Portable, Charles Okocha, Speed Darlington and Carter Efe.

Carter Efe secured a unanimous-decision victory over Portable in May, while Charles Okocha won their rematch in July.
The October 1 programme is expected to have a wider audience through television and online broadcasting. Organisers have confirmed that DAZN and SuperSport will provide live coverage of the event.
The matchup also demonstrates how celebrity personalities and social media attention are increasingly being incorporated into boxing promotions in Nigeria.
Rather than being limited to traditional boxing contests, the “Chaos in the Ring” series has created a format that combines sports, entertainment and celebrity appearances.
As of Saturday, further information about the undercard and ticket sales for the Phyna-Nkechi bout had not been released by the organisers.
