TikTok Permanently Bans Carter Efe’s Account With Over Five Million Followers

Nigerian skit maker, Oderhowho Joseph Efe, better known as Carter Efe, has lost his official TikTok page after the platform permanently banned it for repeated violation of its community guidelines.

The ban was confirmed on Wednesday, it was reported.

TikTok said the account had violated its policies multiple times.

Carter Efe’s banned account that was taken down had garnered over 5.6 million followers and over 158 million likes.
The page was one of his main outlets to share comedy videos, promote music and engage with fans through live broadcasts.

Carter Efe has lost a TikTok account before but this is the latest development.

Another account for the skit maker was taken down by TikTok in June 2025 with around 3.5 million followers.

The move is coming after a row sparked by his comments about Nigerian singer Wizkid on a live stream.

The content creator would later apologize for the incident and return to the platform, slowly rebuilding his following and eventually growing his replacement account to over 5.6 million followers.

Elsewhere, Carter Efe spoke on why he stopped making relationship content with his ex-girlfriend.

The comedian reportedly talked about his past relationship content and the challenges he encountered while filming with his ex-partner on a recent episode of Cocktails & Takeaways.

Carter said that his online content had gotten so entangled with his relationship that it was difficult for him to make videos if his girlfriend wasn’t around.

He later said that he realized that building a career around someone else could impact his growth and personal identity.

“I began to realize that I needed to separate my own brand from my relationship so my career would not be tied to whether I was with my partner or not,” he said.
